Idol Series / Who loves the Idol?

I agree completely with T-bone. Anyone could get a Washburn as a nice beginner guitar, anyone could get the Idol instead of a Gibson LP. Better guitar, better looks, and better sound.

Idol Series / Your opinion?
« on: January 05, 2010, 04:11:20 PM »
A couple of friends and I are starting a band, and I really want to play Crazy Train. My friend that will be the lead guitarist said he would do it if we found a drummer, and we found one, so now he is backing out. How can I convince him to come in? He says he hasn't practiced the guitar in  6 months, and it would be cool if I only played my Eruption for the talent show. I really want to play Crazy Train, cause then the drummer would have a purpose, and The rhythm guitar is very easy, yet super awesome.

I really want him to come in, and I need your guys' help to convince him so I can melt some faces with Randy's solo(the guy from ozzy osbournes band), my friend will want to do more shows, and I can finally fulfill my dream of being in a band.

Another question, how do you think my WI45 would souds playing the lead guitar to Crazy Train?

Thanks guys!

Idol Series / How can I know what year my WI45 is?
« on: January 01, 2010, 12:07:42 AM »
I have no idea what year my WI45 is. All I know is that it is brand new, and I got it from Amazon. I am the only owner of this guitar, and I want to know how I can find out what year it is. Please help?

Well, I did vaccum the upstairs and cleaned out the vaccum, and that was all grey, but I'm pretty sure thats not it, cause I washed my hands thouroughly right after. In black magic woman, there is a lot of bending, and I practiced that song for an hour and a half, nonstop bending. It might have came from the string, but i didnt notice anything 'washed off' from them

Not sure if I understand the question properly but, yes. According to Nick, there will be a new shape introduced at NAMM. Nick is a moderator here and a Washburn guy who knows the facts on this.

Chris, does your WI-45 have a shelf nut? I understood that that was used only for retrofitting a standard guitar. My Idol does not have such a nut.

Well, if the nut is the same as in the picture, then yes.
