no relation i just happened to find his store he opened about 3 blocks from my house. never saw more high quality guitars in  my life in one place and i;ll be  49 this week. Hey when you find a good guy hey you want to share the info .Aren;t  you sick of being it stuck to you all the time. Nothing but lousy imports your lucky to find any quality except if you go to ebay then you have to go threw that process. with steve its a great buying expierience thats all i was trying to tell the forem. He;s one of the good guys who bends over backwards to make you happy. Good luck finding that type service no adays. Rk[:D]

if your looking for top of the line shredder guitars that can;t compare to your wildest dreams check out custom metal guitars. Steve is a great guy who buys only the  best .When they arrive his luthier who has 30 plus years in the business goes over every guitar .I;ve never witnessed anyone put somuch into making a guitar all it can and more. He also deals bareknuckle pickups and is a great guy to deal with ,you won;;t be sorry with any purchase from him. I thought i was picky wow these guys don;t let a seed get buy em. custom metal guitars a definite winner for shredd or just some of the best guitars you want to play. Rk

Vintage and Rare Washburns / cts custom shop
« on: July 18, 2011, 11:58:50 AM »
i just scored a mint cts custom shop 300 with hardshell case in worn brown like mahogany. Its so hard to believe washburn made so many great not good great custom shop guitars and now just nuno;s and paul stanley;s. Who ever holds old washburn usa made custom shop guitars will be rewarded in the future. History repeats itself. All thats left is expensive or inexpensive imports or custom shop guitars for literally thousands  and months to wait on the build. I own 18 different usa models and consider some my favorites like the faceeracer or the wm300 or grover jacksons mgs and silverado and larado. unreal stuff. Well this will probably be my last one. I own a p3 a e-3oo  know this which completes the centurian series. One of each. ertle[:D]

Vintage and Rare Washburns / e-300 and wm3 mint
« on: July 07, 2011, 01:03:02 PM »
i was able to pickup a mint e-300 with case and setup 740 but i got rid of the 5 way knob and replace the 59 and custom pickups with a set of tesla opus 1;s coil tapped amazing difference also to no avail a mint wm3 looked like it just came off the line. I was using a magnifing glass trying to find divits in the frets or seeds in the finish. I own 17 washburn custom shop guitars no two are the same. I;m equally as impressed with all of them from my n6 and n4 to my usa grover mg;s to the custom shop models i bought.I threw a set of bare knuckle rebel yells in a w1568 man that bad boy screams but still has a beautiful coiltapped sound and clean tone.It amazes me that these guitars are gone forever. All their building are paul stanley;s and nuno;s. what a shame. I;d love to buy a ct4 if anyone has one for sale. I own a p3 and a e-300 this would top it off or a wi 526 thanks for letting me ramble on. ertle[8D]

i just picked up a mint like new one of these gorgous flame top bound rosewood full board .The only thing i didn;t like is the 5 way knob. But i grabbed it at 777 with hard shell case and setup with a stand strap and state sales tax around 850 . These where only made one year. In this condition just wondered what the guys think it might be worth as time goes on and no more washburn custom shop except for nuno;s and paul stanley guitars. thanks looking for your comments and opinions i value them highly from this forem. I was thinking of throwing in a set of bareknuckles i did that with a wi68 with rebel yells replacing the 59 and jb made a world of difference the guitar screams and cleans and coil taps are the real deal. If you haven;t tryed bareknuckle pickups your in for a treat . call steve a custom  metal guitars he;s a dealer and a player and a super guy on top of it. Real down to earth . Love that guy ertle

if your selling that wm4 i;ll take it let me see a pic and a price . thanks ertle

i snatched up a mint trans red faceeracer last week . I love the swapping of the 81 and 85 definitely what the guitar and many others with that set up should try. Nice guitar to the gentlemen who bought the ltd. My only suggestion is after 32yrs of playing and collecting guitars .Out of 90 only 4 are japanese custom shop. I learned early you;ll pay out the noise brand new. Better to find a good second hand one on ebay .Like a one owner who took care of it. ;You;ll get it for at least half of what you paid for the ltd new. esp has gone over seas they no longer use the samick brothers for building and i hear from many luthiers and top shops their quaility has alot of shops dropping them and staying with schecter. I miss schecters usa guitars.soon you will be hard pressed to find a import for under a 1000 worth playing.go to sell it 400 tops. usa guitars will either be extinct or all custom shop orders. Look at fender they own half of everyone out thier. Also there own line has suffered tramendously quality wise. Well enjoy the guitar.

i got the same thing emailed to me. Its run by guitar center which makes me leary of any bankrupcy auction.Second did you get a load of all those top of the line gibsons prs;s and fenders wow i;m sure they won;t be getting sold at 10 cents on the dollars .Standard bankrupcy price. I Think this is just another add schmere to get innocent buyers involved in a heavey weight auction . Which prices are going to be threw the roof. Wait and see.

i own both of the ones your looking for and would never part with them .I paid 225 for the one and both came with hsc and 375 for the other in mint shape. These are harder and harder to come buy. when grover jackson built these they commanded prices between 1000 and 1400 back in 93-94 amazing guitars to the last detail. They have the strangest locking tuners i;ve ever come across. He always builds over the top.

if i weren;t so lazy i would. I will post my whole washburn collection. which has some pretty vintage custom shop and one offs. I own 3 usa mgs a dd75 with custom pickups a n4 paydunck custom pu;s a n6 stock. a larado blue sparkle top rare. and a flame top silverado . wi68 with bareknuckle rebel yells a p3 stock the faceeracer stock a custom shop eagle neck threw ;wi580 stock custom shop a one of 7 custom build and also a rock 500 which smokes usa of course i;m missing a few but i;ll get my wife to snap em and post em. They are all so unique in sound and playability its such a shame their gone. I predict these guitars will go up in value as imports keep creeping into the 1000 and up range. The quality of washburns custom shop was amazing. Peavey ran a close second. Look neither produce usa guitars unless custom ordered. Its a shame.

a local store just had a young guy trade in a face eraser .I grabbed it . It was a flame red gorgous top and neck is unreal. The emgs sound great for the fact they put the 81 in the neck and 85 bridge instead of the way everyone else does. The sound is unreal cleans are great but the fun is the metal wow do these pups scream with a ebony board pinch harmonics are a breeze and playability is wonderful. It came with a 200 dollar case . The owner even threw in a strap and stand for 1100 i thought i did good. Thats pretty much what their going for if you can find one. I can understand why these are rare the craftsmenship is unreal .I;ve never heard these pickups sound this good. I was really planning on putting in a set of bareknuckles till i played it. This is definetly a keeper .A 2006 .Its a shame they built such great custom shop guitars if your a player great as investments maybe in the future the youth of today will get sick of these imports and look to find quality usa guitars down the road until then orevah.ertle

Like i said i;ve played a few washburns with the diablo pickup its tough to match it with anything else but a diablo neck its so unique in sound when you go threw your 3 way its like night to day. I;d grab it at that price and just change the neck pickup . I bought a new dd70 got rid of the double distortion pickups and went with a jazz and jb the guitar  really sounds outstanding now. It cost me 368 new delivered. I had the pickups. I;d even go so far as to throw a set of duncan blackouts in that bad boy. wow
