Hey All!
Anyone else ever seen one of these?
I bought it in 1985, and it's a great instrument.
Never seen another Force 40 Chicago.

Vintage and Rare Washburns / Washburn Monterey Acoustic Electric!!!
« on: March 20, 2019, 06:19:39 AM »
I have a Washburn Monterey acoustic electric. I bought it years ago but due to not using it very much have decided to sell it. It is in very nice condition but I have no idea what year it is. From the forums I have learned that early 80's had the old pickup system with the 2 control knobs next to the neck like this one, and mid eighties they went with a equalizer type. The printed number inside the body next to the George Washburn logo is E87592 and the printed numbers inside where the neck stock attaches are hard to read but the first number is a 8, the next number looks like a 2, and I'm guessing 3005 for the last 4. I'd love some help on the year and if anyone can give me a ballpark value that would be great. Pictures on dropbox. It's a spruce or cedar top, rosewood back and sides with the pointed cut-a-way, and mahogany neck. The Tuners have George Washburn printed on them.

General Discussion / Guitar Serial Numbers!!
« on: March 15, 2019, 05:17:13 AM »
I created a new profile so that my login is correctly spelt.

Is there something written that shows what the letters are of guitar serial numbers?

I have seen a couple things on model numbers.

My Cumberland starts with G04 which I realize is 2004 but what is the G?  What if it was a Z, Q or Y or T (purely random choices).

General Discussion / How should I pick my first acoustic?
« on: March 13, 2019, 07:00:23 AM »
Guitars are very expensive and I do not have enough money to purchase very many. I want to get an acoustic to play, I already have an electric which I got very cheap by pure luck but I'm also interested in an acoustic. I don't know enough about guitars to know which brands/models are better than others, and I'm not sure how much I should expect to spend. I want a good quality guitar that wouldn't need replacing, i.e. not a $40 starter kit or something, but I also can't get something super expensive. I was hoping for $150 and under.

tl;dr I don't know which guitar is good, especially because I can't really afford any super good ones.
