General Discussion / Custom Oak Pedal Board
« on: March 13, 2010, 12:10:36 PM »
I was cleaning and trying to organize my music room / practice area a few weeks ago.

I was looking for a way to clean up the floor in front of me. I have a couple guitar pedals and a tuner that I use frequently and the cables and power supply cables and plugs are just a tangled mess. It just kept bothering me looking at the mess.

I looked around for Pedal Boards online and everything was either cheezy looking or super complicated or just plain ugly!

I had an idea for my own custom pedal board and took some nice solid oak wood I bought over to my buddy (Gary) who is a cabinet maker/ all around handy man.....who also plays guitar and posts regularly on the UMGF. I gave him my ideas and he grabbed the wood and went to work.  What I got back was so cool! It fits my pedals and looks good in my house (My Wife is MUCH HAPPIER that the mess is cleaned up and she thinks the Oak pedal board looks much classier)

Well this are so awesome I wanted to share and if anyone is interested send me a PM and I can give you Gary's contact info. He said he would like make them for anyone who would be interested.  He was saying base price would be about $30 + shipping, but of course you can modify the design and wood selection to taste and then discuss pricing with him.

Here is the BEFORE

After

Soooo much better! Of course it did make me go out and buy the Boss Pedal Tuner.... Like I said ......  PM me and I will forward you his contact info.

For Sale - Washburn 125-ANNIVERSARY-R-316-SWKK-PARLOR GUITAR

Asking $699

This is one killer re-issue parlor guitar! This collector's piece has been lovingly created to replicate the exact sound, feel and look of the 1800's vintage Washburn Parlor guitar....the kind that sells for thousands of dollars in vintage shops across the country. This is an ALL SOLID WOOD limited edition numbered guitar. These are no longer available and rarely come up for sale.
Most of the other Washburn Parlors now being sold are laminate back and sides. I am selling this one only because I have two (one Trembesi and one Rosewood) of these and need to fund a new all mahogany OM or parlour --- Trade maybe?.

** Top: Solid aged spruce ----    ** Sides: Solid Trembesi

** Back: Solid Trembesi  ----    ** Neck: Mahogany

** Fretboard: Ebony  ----    ** Binding: Ivoroid

** Bridge: Ebony  ----    ** 1 7/8 inch nut

** Classic V neck profile   ----   ** #52 0f 250 made

The sound is quite punchy, with good sustain. The bass thumps out, but without the boom you'd get from a bigger body. It is quite a loud guitar when you hit it hard, but can also produce some really sweet soft tones. I have played this one for probably less than 30-40 hours. It is in great shape. Only issues that came up were a small bit of the fret board binding came loose in shipping. I had this repaired by a great local Luthier...when he did this repair he also reinforced a small defect in the side wood to be sure it was strong. This was all very well done and invisible to my eyes. (total disclosure !)

If interested PM me or send an email to sands4us (at) yahoo (dot) com to discuss logistics

I finally got a chance to line up some guitars and take a couple of pics of my new Music Room or Man Cave as I like to call it.

We added on to our Kitchen, added a laundry room and my Music room. We submitted plans back in December and just finished the project a few weeks ago. Still got lots of details to finish up.

Not sure if this is for real or a joke, but there are hours of laughter and pain.
