I am looking for a diagram showing the original wiring for a Idol WI64DL (or WI64) guitar...

I have seen many references of its existence, but I cannot locate the diagram.

I just got an idol and also got a set of the original WB630 pickups for it. The VCC pots and wiring is all in the cavity, I just need the wiring diagram.

Any help?

Idol Series / Wiring new pickups, can VCC be used? Help
« on: February 13, 2010, 08:54:39 AM »

I found this forum to be of great help last time I had an issue!!

I picked up a newer Washburn Idol WI64DL red wine quilted guitar from a pawn shop last week...

It sounded a bit off, but the body was nice. So I took the pups out and figured out they were not the stock pups, and were not wired correctly. They also were very low quality chinese off brand pups...

So I had a decent set of Epiphone pups out of a '96 Les Paul Custom.

They are each single conductor, 2 wire pickups. One has a blue lead wire, the other pup has a red lead wire.

The guitar still has the original VCC stacked pots, and the normal volume pots, as well as the switch and input all intact....

Can someone help me wire up the Epiphone pickups using the existing vcc system?

If not, can someone post a diagram of how to use the stacked pots and add a cap to wire it with the standard vol/tone/vol/tone with these epi pickups?

I prefer to use the vcc is thats possible....[8D]

Idol Series / WB630 Pickup (Idol WI64DL) wiring diagram help?

Greetings [8D]

I removed the vcc system from my WI64L, and I want to go to just a regular LP style wiring, 2 volume, 2 tone.

I followed a wiring diagram for basic Les Paul's modern wiring, and I followed the examples in a few of my Les Pauls here at the house.

When I finished, the pickup sounded very tinny with no low end, both the bridge and the neck pup.

I know something isnt right, but I cant seem to find any information, or diagrams to help.

I have the white and red wire together as per most 4 conductor pup wiring diagrams, and the black is grounded for each, and the green is used as the hot for each pickup, is this right?
