Washburn N5 for sale
« on: December 01, 2010, 01:31:56 PM »
Hey all,

The last of my N-series guitars for sale is an N5.  This guitar is basically in new condition.  I purchased it last year from Auburn Music Group and it arrived the day before I had to deploy overseas.  I was only able to play it about an hour.  When I returned home in May, I picked it up again and wasn't happy with the fret buzz I was getting.  I sent it back to Washburn and they performed a partial refret and leveling under warranty - it is spot-on now.

As you can see, there is some beautiful figuring in the neck, and the body is in pristine condition.  The only marks I could find were some VERY LIGHT scratches/swirls near the bridge.  I could not capture these with my camera - they are only visible from a certain angle/light, and they could probably be buffed out.

I also purchased an N6 pickguard from Jon at FM.  I will include this as well.  Originally Washburn quoted me $200 for the N6 pickguard, but when Jon bought out the remaining stock of N5/N6 parts, he listed them at $59 and I jumped at the chance (thanks Jon!).  My intention was to turn this into an N6, as I'm not much of a single-coil guy.

The sale will include the N5, trem bar, extra N6 pickguard, and Washburn flight case.

$1200 plus shipping/fees OBO

I have a cream N5 as well.
I have the same annoying fret buzz you are describing,  but only when playing around the 2nd,  3rd or 4th fret.
Coincidence?
[V]

I've tried raising the action with no relief.
I'll have to bring it to the local guitar shop and have him take a peek.

Sweet axe.

If you have excessive buzzing on the lower frets, raising the bridge action will not help. You have to adjust the truss rod to give your neck more relief.

Raising or lowering the bridge will affect the action from the 12th fret and up.

Hi Rook,

I have sent you a message through the forum quite a few days ago, but haven't received a reply. Is it sold yet? I'm definitely interested. You can contact me via stevenschuurman (at) gmail (dot) com if you still have it for sale.

Cheers,
Steven

Sorry guys,
obviously I don't check the Washburn forum much (migrated over to the FM forum).  I decided to hold off selling it while I finished up another deployment and moved to a new state, but it may be coming up for sale again soon.  I'll keep you posted.

Hey everyone!
N5 back up for sale.  Still in exact same condition as I have not played it (one of the reasons why it is back up for sale).
