I have a Washburn J-6 with s/n 9090058.
Where was it made? In Japan or Korea?

Thanks, kcris

most koreans ive seen have the s in front of the serial number (s=samick guitars korea)so it very well might be japan but going by the numbers either its an 89 or 90 which would most likely be korean..(not china for sure).....................accept2 where are you brother to help me out[?][?][?][:D]

Yes, i know his page. There are no good sources about the late 80's early '90s manufacturer places. Most of them says that: It's japan or korea...  [:0]

Just a question:

What is the difference between a J6 and a J6 Montgomery?  Is it just the montgomery inlay on the headstock?  Are the PUPs different?  The neck?  Mine is from Korea and is blonde and says Montgomery in the inlay on the headstock.  It is an 04 model.  Says Korea on the back of the headstock.

Chances favor it being Japanese. If so, great!

If Korean, great too!

Definitely not Chinese and that's a GOOD thing!

Love that tailpiece!

Send your info to Stacy Puckett at Washburn Customer Service.

But don't tell him Squint sent ya! I've already bothered the boy with s/n questions this week!!

Good luck! Fine guitar, ain't it?

Is yours HEAVY? Mine weighs a TON and it's an '88!

Ta!
