I opened this thread tonight because there was a new message, and read the post from 8/31/09 about Bob Dylan in Long Branch, NJ
being stopped by Officer Kristie Buble of the Long Branch Police. And BAMM, Kristie's Dad & Mom were my tax clients over the years, and remember that her mother almost died during her childbirth. I still do work for her Grandma & Grandpa, her aunt and uncle and some of her cousins. What a surprise to see her name come up in the forum out of left field!

I have read that Dylan used Washburns fairly regularly between 1978 and into the early 1990's. From 1978 until 1981, he alternated between his Washburn and 2 Yamahas that were given to him. I wonder what Dylan's earliest Washburn acoustics were? Does anybody know?
In the latest Acoustic Rock Magazine, Greg Alman said: "...I have a Taylor and a small Washburn reissue that's really nice."
Didn't Washburn come out with a EA guitar that they called "Melissa," in honor of the song the Allman Brothers Band did by that name? |

Well just to get this thread up to the "We Want Nuno" thread, how about dragging a couple of the oldies out, you know people like Robbie Robertson, Greg Allman or Jimmy Page. Let's see what they feel about Washburn Acoustic Instruments, they've put their names on a few.

I was just looking at mandolins on the Home site. Got me to thinking . . . how about a Washburn mando player for the much-neglected Bluegrass Section members? Or, perhaps, a banjo artist. I think, from what I see here, lots of folks might be interested in either or both.

Bob Dylan was strolling around the town of Long Branch, N.J. on July 23. He was there killing some time before he was set to perform at a baseball stadium in Lakewood, part of a tour he was on with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp.
A complaint came in from a house on the market by "its owners; stating an 'eccentric - looking old man' wandering around there front yard," according to the ChicagoTribune.com.
ABCNews.com reports that Kristie Buble, a fresh-faced 24-year-old police officer of Long Branch, responded to the complaint. After approaching the old man in the rain, she had no idea who he was even after he told her "I’m Bob Dylan." She then asked for his ID, which he did not have on him. After failing to present identification, Buble took Mr. Dylan in her cruiser to the hotel where he was staying.
She told ABCNews.com that, "He didn’t look like Bob Dylan to me at all…We see a lot of people on our beat, and I wasn't sure if he came from one of our hospitals or something."
Maybe it is because of all the different personas he has taken on in his career that we sometimes forget what the 68-year-old legend looks like. "Oh, how does it feel?"

Wasn't there some fella' named Bob Dylan or somthing like that that plays a Washburn? I think there was a couple of guys with the last names like Allman and Waters that are Washburn players as well if memory serves me correctly!
