I think it's a special run for FunkyMunky Music based on the J28 jumbo.

It's not a special run for FunkyMunky. This will be part of the 09 lineup. I have some on the way.

thanks,
Nick

This statement at FunkyMunky Music is what threw me: "We are currently the only retailer in the USA with this guitar!"

I'll guess the statement is also a lie and they don't really have any!

Heh heh. Yep, it would be interesting to know what our Texas brethren think about it.

I posted about this guitar sometime ago. Magoo and I agreed it would look great up a wall. I know that my taste may be rightfully called into question, but--I WANT ONE!!! I just have a thing for cowboy guitars, and this one has attitude to spare. Unfortunately, I don't have the $799 to spare, but if it's part of the 09 lineup, I guess I have no need to be in a hurry.

No, if it's like the '08 lineup, they should be out by 2011.

I've got my pistol cocked and primed but so far I haven't seen a Texan lusting after one of those. Now if it had a naked woman and a case of Shiner Bock on it I just might be in line.

You had me at "neked woman" Pappy. Of course the Shiner is just the icing on the cake.

I prefer to see the natural beauty of the wood tops. I'm not really a fan of sunburst anymore either. However, my opinion is probably in the minority here in Texas.

Not quite as ugly as the Prince replica but pretty ugly. But than the Prince replica was $5000.00 worth of ugly,,, this only $799 worth of ugly.

Heh heh, they're not pretty to us Rocket, but I'm OK with them as starter guitars for kids as long as they play and sound as good as the Oscar Schmidt OG1.

There aren't many requirements for a decent guitar but one is that I have to be able to look at it without laughing, barfing, or laughing till I barf!
